That the Parliament commends East Fife Sports Council on being named Sports Council of the Year 2022 at the Scottish Club Sport Conference in Stirling; notes that the award was made because of the council’s advocacy for access to local facilities and building of strong partnerships, including recruiting a panel of young people; recognises the council’s work in securing funding for swimming lessons as part of the curriculum at Bell Baxter High School; commends the council’s work with local councillors in campaigning for access to leisure facilities; further commends the council for launching its Community Development Fund to help its members promote inclusion in sport, and believes that the work of sports councils is vital to creating vibrant and active communities that benefit from sport.
