That the Parliament congratulates Willie McCallum of Campbeltown on being named the overall champion of the prestigious Glenfiddich Piping Championship; understands that Willie competed against nine of the world’s greatest solo bagpipers in the renowned 49th annual competition at Blair Castle; recognises that this marks a record ninth win for Willie, extending his pre-existing record for having the most overall wins ever; acknowledges the importance of piping in Scottish culture, and hopes that this victory will inspire more people into piping.
