  • Date lodged: Thursday, 17 November 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06776

That the Parliament recognises 25 November as White Ribbon Day 2022; considers that all men and boys have a role in tackling misogyny and ending gender-based violence; supports the work of organisations, including White Ribbon UK, Against Violence & Abuse (AVA), End Violence Against Women, Women's Aid, Engender, and others, on changing what it believes are harmful attitudes, systems, and behaviours around masculinity that perpetuate gender inequality and gender-based violence; urges people across Scotland, especially boys and men, to mark White Ribbon Day 2022 by taking the White Ribbon Scotland pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about men's violence against women in all its forms, and encourages all to unite on 25 November for White Ribbon Day, and work towards ending violence against women and girls.
