International Day of Older Persons 2022

  • Submitted by: Carol Mochan, South Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 26 September 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06053

That the Parliament notes that 1 October 2022 is the International Day of Older Persons; understands that the theme this year is the resilience and contributions of older women; believes that the current cost of living crisis is having a significant and detrimental impact on the older population; understands that a considerable proportion of older households are affected by fuel poverty, and commends, therefore, the efforts of the Scottish Pensioners’ Forum, which is campaigning relentlessly for a fairer society that treats its older population with dignity and respect, including, it understands, outside the Scottish Parliament on 29 September 2022.
