Cumnock Beautician Expands Business with New Opportunity

  • Submitted by: Sharon Dowey, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 26 September 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06020

That the Parliament congratulates Cumnock’s Carolyn Crawford as she embarks on her new beauty business venture; notes that Carolyn previously had a shop on Lugar Street in Cumnock before closing during the COVID-19 lockdown and moving to an outbuilding at her home; understands that she has since been approved by East Ayrshire Council for a licence that will see her expand her beauty services to include semi-permanent tattoo make-up; further understands that Carolyn had doubts about her decision to move and expand due to the cost of living crisis and rise in energy bills; recognises that she overcome these doubts as she has received a huge amount of support from her client base, and has had a surge in new customers from word of mouth; believes that Carolyn has also expanded by opening a training academy in the local area after recently qualifying as an educator; understands that Carolyn’s daughter is currently training to join her mum in the new premises; applauds Carolyn for her hard work and determination, and wishes her continued success and growth with her business going forward.
