That the Parliament congratulates Sarah James, from Gourock, on becoming the world champion in the under-18s advance acro category at the World Lyrical Dance Federation championships, held in Dublin; notes that Sarah attends Lucy’s Dance Academy in Greenock and all dancers from the troupe returned home with a place or accolade to be proud of, including Olivia Flynn, aged nine, who placed in the top 10 in the world in her acro category and Lily Grace O’Donoghue, also nine, who claimed a top 10 finish in lyrical; further notes that Reva Aitken, 10, was runner-up in the under-12 advanced acro category and Daisy McIlroy, 11, was named eighth in the world for lyrical and acro and 10th in her jazz category; acknowledges that Hayleigh Farr, 15, placed third in acro, fourth for lyrical and second in her lyrical quad with fellow dancers, and that Sophie Cameron finished third in the world in the under-16 lyrical category and was one point off first place in her acro category; believes that the troupe’s success reflects the commitment that its members have shown to their dancing and also the excellent tuition that they receive from Lucy Broadfoot, who was also a champion dancer, and wishes them all the best for future competitions.
