That the Parliament congratulates Eilish McColgan on winning gold in the women’s 10,000m at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games; notes that this is her first Commonwealth Games medal and comes 32 years after her mother, Liz McColgan, also won a gold medal in the women’s 10,000m at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland; understands that Eilish is a two-time European medallist, winning a silver medal in the 2018 European Athletics Championships held in Berlin, and a bronze medal in the 2017 European Athletics Indoor Championships held in Belgrade; commends Eilish for her work on "giving back to track", which aims to encourage children from all backgrounds into athletics and lead healthy lifestyles, starting with her local athletic club Dundee Hawkhill Harriers, and wishes Eilish continued success on the track as the new reigning Commonwealth Games women’s 10,000m champion.
