Scottish Muslim Funeral Services

  • Submitted by: Foysol Choudhury, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 26 July 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05490

That the Parliament notes the service of Khurram Mustafa, who is the director of Scottish Muslim Funeral Services in Edinburgh, to his community; notes that Scottish Muslim Funeral Services was set up in 2013 to provide specialised funeral services to Scotland’s Muslim community; understands that it provides a 24-hour call-out service to members of the Muslim community and provides transportation arrangements and advice to mosques around the country; further understands that Mr Mustafa seeks to additionally secure a site for a dedicated Muslim graveyard in the Lothian region, which, it understands, would be run on a not-for-profit basis, and wishes him all the best in that venture and for the future.
