Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2021

That the Parliament congratulates Darren Cole, from the Isle of Harris, on being awarded Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2021, along with being named the winner in the awards’ Environmental category; understands that the winning photograph, titled Ice and Fire, depicts a view of the Clisham mountain from Ardhasaig; further understands that the photograph depicts the snow-covered Clisham contrasted with the moor in the foreground aflame (as a result of controlled muir-burning); recognises that it is the first time a photograph from the Environmental category has been named the winner of the Scottish Nature Photography Awards overall, and praises Mr Cole for his award-winning landscape photography work.
