Angus Friends Raise £7,000 for Local Mental Health Charity

  • Submitted by: Graeme Dey, Angus South, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 05 July 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05287

That the Parliament commends Arbroath’s Andrew Fair and his group of thirteen friends who, in taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, have raised over £7,000 for Arbroath-based mental health charity Reach Across; notes that the challenge entails summiting the three tallest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland within twenty-four hours; understands that this fundraising endeavour was undertaken in memory of their late friend, Bailey Menmuir, who was just twenty-one years old when he tragically died, with the challenge being completed just after Bailey’s birthday; congratulates the group on their efforts, and applauds the work of Reach Across in providing support to people in Angus who are experiencing poor mental health or have learning difficulties and in confronting associated stigma.
