Arbroath-based Georgina Ogilvie Awarded BEM in The Queen’s Birthday Honours

That the Parliament congratulates Arbroath-based Georgina Ogilvie, who was awarded a British Empire Medal as part of The Queen’s Birthday Honours for voluntary services to veterans; understands that Georgina has been Chair of the Women’s Section of the Royal British Legion for Scotland’s Arbroath Branch since 2003, which she joined in 1976; notes that her main focus has been on providing support and wellbeing services to members in need, especially older people, who she has helped by organising Christmas dinners and catering for veteran support events; understands that Georgina has been active in raising money for the branch in a variety of ways, as well as planning the annual ANZAC commemorations and gatherings on Remembrance Sunday, and commends her for carrying out all of this work on a voluntary basis.
