30 Years of Keep Scotland Beautiful Beach Awards

  • Submitted by: Gillian Martin, Aberdeenshire East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 10 June 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04781

That the Parliament congratulates Keep Scotland Beautiful on celebrating 30 years of its Beach Awards, which, it believes, continue to be the national benchmark for environmental quality at Scotland's beaches; understands that over 50 beaches across Scotland earned the award in 2022, including those at Balmedie, Collieston and Cruden Bay; further understands that to gain an award, beaches must meet standards across the areas of access, facilities and safety, local environmental quality, and communities and heritage; recognises what it sees as the role of the awards in helping keep Scotland’s shorelines to a high standard, and wishes the scheme continued success.
