New State-of-the-art Training Facility in Bridge of Don

  • Submitted by: Jackie Dunbar, Aberdeen Donside, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 31 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04608

That the Parliament welcomes the news that MRS Training and Rescue is investing in a new £1 million training facility in Bridge of Don; understands that it will support a variety of industries, including oil and gas, renewables, marine, specialist training and industrial rescue services; notes that what it sees as the state-of-the-art training facility will provide training for working at height, in confined spaces, around wind turbines and how to deliver first aid in challenging environments; understands that the new facility will directly create up to 30 new jobs over the next three years, in addition to training the next generation of skilled workers who will develop what it sees as the growing circular economy in Aberdeen Donside and the further north east; commends the decision to invest in the region, and wishes the best to all those involved in the creation of the facility, as well as to those who will train at the facility in the future.
