That the Parliament marks Invasive Species Week, which, in 2022, takes place between 16 and 22 May; considers that Scotland's natural heritage is valued by communities across the country, including in the Aberdeenshire West constituency, and provides a wide range of social, cultural and health benefits; notes the potential threat posed by invasive species, including the reported impact on the iconic red squirrel species due to competition from grey squirrels, and further notes what it sees as the urgent need to restore nature and improve Scotland’s biodiversity, in light of the connected crises of nature and climate.
