Scotland Team’s Performance at WSF World Squash Doubles Championships

That the Parliament recognises the impressive performance delivered by Scottish athletes, Georgia Adderley, Lisa Aitken, Alan Clyne, Douglas Kempsell, Greg Lobban and Rory Stewart who, it understands competed for Scotland at the WSF World Squash Doubles Championships in Glasgow; understands that in a field consisting of 85 athletes from 15 nations, Scotland lifted three out of the nine medals available and secured the highest number of top five performances with all teams finishing in the top five for each category of mixed doubles, women’s doubles and men’s doubles; further understands that this included third place in the mixed doubles for Greg Lobban and Lisa Aitken with Rory Stewart and Georgia Adderley taking fifth, fifth place in the women’s doubles for Lisa Aitken and Georgia Adderley, and second place in the men’s doubles for Greg Lobban and Rory Stewart, just ahead of Alan Clyne and Douglas Kempsell, who came third; acknowledges what it sees as the valuable contribution of the coaching team and support staff, including Scottish Squash’s Director of Squash, Paul Bell, Scottish Squash Senior Performance Coach, Kylie Lindsay, Team Manager, Mary McClung, and Coach, David Pearson, as well as the numerous support staff at the sportscotland Scottish Institute of Sport; commends the various partner organisations, including sportscotland and Springfield Properties, which, it understands, provide ongoing support to Scottish Squash in the development of its performance programmes; congratulates the whole of Team Scotland for their outstanding set of results in this event, and wishes them continued success in the future.
