Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby Festival

That the Parliament celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby Festival, which, it understands, recommences on 14 May 2022; notes that the tournament will be played at Aberdeen Wanderers RFC Playing Fields; understands that Golden Oldies Rugby, is enjoyed Worldwide, by players aged over 35 and the oldest player, who is playing regularly, is a sprightly 88 years young; further understands that whilst adhering to the World Rugby Laws, Golden Oldies Rugby has some variations; understands that the Festival shall be involving Scottish Deaf Rugby, Tartan Touch Rugby and for the first time, the Clan Rugby where both able-bodied and disabled players train, play and socialise together in a safe environment and where players wear coloured scrum caps to determine if and how they are tackled and enablers support with encouragement, and commends this prestigious event, which showcases rugby for all ages and abilities, as well as encouraging more people to get involved in the sport.
