That the Parliament congratulates Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT) on being awarded £30,000 from the Veterans’ Foundation to deliver the Grow Your Mind programme; understands that the funding from the Veterans’ Foundation will help FEAT to deliver an outdoor-based, self-management, personal development and employability course for former Armed Forces personnel with mental health conditions and provide help and employability support; believes that the programme lasting six months will aim to provide veterans with experience of horticulture and conservation, along with teaching techniques for participants to manage their mental health; understands that the Grow Your Mind project was first piloted by FEAT back in 2019 and that, despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic placed on delivering the project, it still proved to provide exceptional results for veterans; further understands that the grant is one of a round of 50 awarded by the Veterans’ Foundation totalling £1.1 million and, since its inception in 2016, the foundation has awarded over £9.1 million in grants overall to more than 290 UK-based military charities; appreciates the contribution of donors and the players of the Veterans’ Lottery, whose contributions support veterans in need and additionally allows them the chance to win £35,000 every month, and extends its very best wishes for the continued success of the project and to the veterans who participate for the future.
