That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen freestyle skier Kirsty Muir on being selected to represent Team GB at the Beijing Winter Olympics, in February 2022; understands that this will mark 17-year-old Kirsty’s Winter Olympic debut, after winning a silver medal in the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland, as well as earning a number of junior titles at the British Indoor Ski and Snowboard Championships and The BRITS Championships; notes that Kirsty, who is a member of Aberdeen Snowsports Club, started skiing at just three years old, when she took to the dry slopes of the Adventure Aberdeen Snowsports Centre, in Garthdee; acknowledges that, of her selection for Team GB, Kirsty said that it has “been one of my dreams for a long time”, and that she is the youngest member of the team heading to Beijing 2022; wishes Kirsty the very best of luck as she competes in the Women’s Freeski Slopestyle and Women’s Big Air events in Beijing, and wishes all of Team GB every success at the Olympic Winter Games.
