Young People's Sport Panel

That the Parliament congratulates the 20 young people from across Scotland who have been appointed to the Young People’s Sport Panel; understands that the initiative is led by sportscotland and supported by Young Scot; acknowledges that the appointees will play a crucial role in developing sport over the next two years; notes that the panel aims to provide a voice for young people to influence and shape the future of sport in Scotland and raise its profile and is part of sportscotland’s commitment to provide a legacy of confident and well-trained young people who will become the next generation of leaders to help take the sporting system forward; applauds the efforts of sportscotland and Young Scot to involve young people in sport; notes the important contribution of the 15 young people from the outgoing panel who worked to ensure that young people’s voices were heard in sport between 2018 and 2020; understands that the new panel’s first meeting is scheduled for early December 2020, and expresses its desire to work with the panel members and hear their ideas for how sport in Scotland can be improved.
