To ask the Scottish Government, in light of its response to the Freedom of Information request, FOI/202200330247, for what reason 32,200 properties in the Highlands and Islands region are still to be connected through R100 contracts.

The 32,200 figure quoted in response to FOI/202200330247 is the number of premises in the Highlands and Islands Region currently planned to be connected upon completion of the Scottish Government Reaching 100% (R100) North contract. As of the 30th November 2022, a total of 2,056 premises in the Highlands and Islands Region have already been delivered through the R100 North contract build.

The £600 million R100 contract build is a huge civil engineering undertaking which is delivering gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure across some of the most challenging terrain in Scotland, with over 114,000 premises currently expected to be connected upon completion. The contracts are delivered in phases that have been designed to maximise efficiency and support wider network configuration.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will review the reported decision to not include people receiving treatment for alcohol issues from Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standard 1.

There has been no decision taken around excluding people receiving treatment for alcohol issues from Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standard 1.

The MAT standards set out the standards of care people should expect for accessing treatment for drug problems and MAT standard 1 aims to ensure people receive same-day treatment wherever possible on the day they wish to begin medication assisted treatment.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it has implemented its August 2021 Women’s Health Plan, which sets out a number of actions to support women working in the NHS.

The Women’s Health Plan includes a variety of short, medium and long-term actions. Since the publication of the Plan in August 2021, we have prioritised actions that we know will have an immediate impact on health inequalities. Our first report on progress will be published in early 2023, and will set out the progress made since the publication of the plan.

I also refer the member to the answer to question S6W-13514 on 16 January 2023 for an update on the development of a menopause and menstrual health workplace policy for NHS Scotland. To ask the Scottish Government how many homes in (a) Fife and (b) the Central Scotland region rely on liquefied petroleum gas for heating or hot water.

This information is not available in the form requested.

The Scottish House Condition Survey (SHCS) explores the physical condition of Scotland’s homes as well as the experiences of householders. Data from the (SHCS) provides estimates of the number and percentage of households using LPG (bulk or bottled) as a primary heating fuel, based on a single year of data, and at a local authority level by averaging three years’ of data. The survey has not been designed to provide results by Parliamentary Region. The most recent data for 2017-19 by local authority is presented in the following table.

It should be noted that at a Scotland level over the period 2017 to 2019, 1% or 25,000 of households were estimated to use LPG as a primary heating fuel in their homes. Given this low prevalence, precise actual estimates from survey results are not available for Fife and other Local Authority areas.

It should also be noted that some households may use LPG as a secondary heating fuel, alongside other fuels. This is not included in the table below.
