To ask the Scottish Executive what investigations have been carried out by the police into reported child trafficking through Scottish airports.
Answer
Child trafficking is a very seriouscrime, and the police will thoroughly investigate any reports they receive of childrenbeing trafficked into or out of Scotland. For operational reasons, it is not possible to disclosedetails of individual investigations into reports of child trafficking. However,Scottish police forces will be participating in Operation Pentameter 2 later thisyear, a UK-wide multi-agency operation targeted at all forms of human trafficking.

To ask the Scottish Executive what meetings have taken place between its officials and Strathclyde Police regarding reported child trafficking through Scottish airports.

Scottish Executive officialshave met with Strathclyde Police on a number of occasions to discuss a range ofissues relating to human trafficking. Executive officials sit on the Association of Chief Police Officers inScotland Working Group on Human Trafficking, which has been establishedto co-ordinate the Scottish police forces’ response to human trafficking.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will examine and review the results of any referenda on housing stock transfer options that have taken place in the last four years.

We have no plans to do so. Wherea landlord has conducted a ballot to establish whether its tenants wish a transferproposal to proceed, the Scottish Government will respect the choice made by thetenants at that ballot.

To ask the Scottish Executive what discussions it has had with the UK Government regarding increasing security at seaports around the Scottish coast and what action has been taken on the matter.
Answer
There is regular contactwith the UK Government at both ministerial and official level on a range of securityissues, including the security of sea ports.
The police, in partnershipwith the UK Border and Immigration Agency and HM Revenue and Customs, work withthe port operators to ensure that the security at sea ports in Scotland is appropriate to the local circumstances.
