To ask the Scottish Executive how much funding will be set aside for voluntary severance payments in the NHS in (a) 2010-11 and (b) 2011-12.
Answer
No specific funding is made available for voluntary severance payments in NHSScotland. NHS boards receive an allocation to meet the healthcare needs of their resident population. It is for boards to decide how best to utilise this funding to meet national and local priorities.
