Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government how it plans to act upon the reported recommendations made in the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination report, following the combined 24th and 26th periodic reports of the UK and Northern Ireland, including that the (a) Scottish Government engage with stakeholders and members of the Irish community to develop measures to address any ethnic and religious prejudice in Scotland and (b) devolved governments systematically collect and publish comparable statistics on the enjoyment of rights by members of ethnic minorities in all fields of life.
