To ask the Scottish Government when the appointment of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary in Scotland will be announced.

I can confirm that Her Majesty The Queen has approved the re-appointment of Derek Penman as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary in Scotland for a further three years, until 30 January 2020.
