Our website at www.scotlandsuperfast.com is the main means of publicising the R100 programme, of which the R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (SBVS) is a key component. In addition, we publicise the R100 SBVS via the press, social media, and through continued stakeholder engagement activity across Scotland. We remain actively engaged with all 32 Local Authorities – including through a series of quarterly meetings with a network of Single Points of Contact – to ensure they are fully aware of any developments around the R100 SBVS, as well as other elements of the wider R100 programme. We also provide registered suppliers with a suite of SBVS promotional tools that they can use to conduct their own promotion of the scheme.

As of 1 August 2023, a total of 286 businesses have had connections delivered through utilisation of R100 SBVS vouchers, with a further 32 businesses in the pipeline.

Clinical guideline implementation is the responsibility of NHS Boards. The ultimate decision about a particular clinical procedure or treatment will always depend on each individual patient’s condition, circumstances and wishes, and the clinical judgement of the healthcare team.

The Scottish Government expects NHS Boards and clinicians to adhere to current guidelines to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease in accordance with authoritative sources such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the UK Kidney Association (UKKA).

There is clear guidance in place on prescribing and administering prescription medicine for healthcare professionals working in prisons and police custody settings. Guidance for clinicians working in prisons can be found in The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) ‘Safer Prescribing in Prison Guidance for clinicians’. Guidance for clinicians working in police custody can be found in the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine’s ‘ Safe and Secure Administration of Medication in Police Custody’.

As of 1 August 2023, no businesses in the Edinburgh Southern constituency have applied for vouchers through the R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme.

The New Scots refugee integration strategy has been developed and is led in partnership by the Scottish Government, COSLA and Scottish Refugee Council. The current strategy was published in 2018.

All partners have committed to refreshing the strategy and to ensuring that it continues to be shaped by refugees and people seeking asylum, as well as those with expertise supporting them. We are currently developing professional and lived experience engagement events, which will take place throughout Scotland this Autumn to inform the next iteration of the Strategy. Publication of the strategy itself will follow after these events have taken place to ensure the views of those the strategy seeks to serve are properly reflected.

The Young Patients Family Fund (YPFF) has been available since July 2021. We ask NHS Boards to report on the number of claims, including successful claims, which have been made to the fund.

In 2021/22, NHS Boards reported that 4,983 claims were made under the YPFF and all claims were successful.

The Scottish Government continues to improve provision of maternity and neonatal services through implementation of The Best Start: A Five Year forward plan for Maternity and Neonatal care in Scotland.

We receive regular reporting from Health Boards showing they are on track to be delivered by the revised end date of mid 2024 for the majority of the recommendations and for continuity of carer to be implemented within the lifetime of this Parliament.

NHS Boards are responsible for planning and providing services based on the needs of their local population, this includes women who receive maternity aftercare following birth in hospitals, midwife-led birthing units and community settings.

The identification, assessment and management of people with long-term effects of COVID-19 in Scotland is guided by the recommendations of an evidence-based UK-wide clinical guideline developed by the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the Royal College of GPs (RCGP).

We have worked with specialist clinicians in different disciplines to develop an 'Implementation Support Note' for healthcare professionals, which is intended to accompany and support delivery of the clinical guideline in Scotland. This has been shared with all NHS Boards and is accessible on the SIGN website .

We’ve also supported the development of the SIGN Decision Support platform, which provides healthcare professionals with an integrated point of access to the information from both the clinical guideline and the Implementation Support Note, on a web based platform and mobile app. In addition, NHS Education for Scotland’s learning platform ‘Turas’ contains video and webinar content on long COVID.

GPs and Allied Health Professions may also access information and training resources through relevant professional bodies. For example, the Royal College of GPs has an e-learning course on long COVID, which aims to teach people how to describe the various presentations of long COVID, understand the current guidance and the impact that long COVID has on patients.
