Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government whether it has considered any evidence, anecdotal or otherwise, that would suggest that a reduction of the minimum weight of bullet permitted to be used in the culling of deer could lead to increased suffering by the animal when shot.

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S6W-19481 by Neil Gray on 18 July 2023, which confirms that an advisory group has not yet been established, what its position is on whether the Scottish Ministers are in breach of section 29 of the Scottish National Investment Bank Act 2020, in light of the Act being passed in January 2020, the Scottish National Investment Bank having been operational in lending public money, and the Act stating that the "Scottish Ministers must establish and maintain an advisory group to provide them with advice on the Bank’s objects, conduct and performance."
