Questions and answers

Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of reports that staff from Stirling Council’s instrumental music service were called to an urgent meeting on 3 June 2025 to be told that education officers are seeking £200,000 of efficiency savings from the service in this financial year, and further to Stirling Council's unanimous motion to safeguard funding for several public services including music tuition, what urgent assistance it can put in place to ensure that this does not have a detrimental impact on music pupils at Stirling, Balfron and McLaren high schools, as well as all associated primary schools.
