Welcome, everyone, to the second meeting of the Education and Skills Committee. I remind everyone to turn off their mobile phones, as they can interfere with the sound system.
Agenda item 1 is a declaration of interests. I ask members who were not present for the first committee meeting to declare any interests that are relevant to the work of the committee.
I am a member of the General Teaching Council for Scotland and a member of the board of governors of two schools: George Watson’s college and St Mary’s school in Melrose.
I have no interests to declare.
I have no relevant interests other than that I am the parent of children at various stages of their education—which seems to me to be very relevant.
Who could argue with that? Thank you very much.
