Local Government Pension Scheme (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2019 (SSI 2019/161)
Under agenda item 3, we have one negative instrument to consider. The main purpose of the regulations is to provide that the entitlement to retire at 55 applies to deferred pension members of the local government pension scheme. They also make some changes to the requirements for cohabiting partner pensions.
There are a couple of errors in the regulations that relate to a misplaced word and a paragraph that appears twice, albeit with slightly different wording. Full details are in our published papers.
Does the committee wish to draw the regulations to the attention of the Parliament on the general reporting ground, as they contain a couple of drafting errors?

Does the committee wish to welcome the Government’s undertaking to lay a further instrument to correct the errors in time for the regulations to come into force on 28 June?
