Item 2 on the agenda is the choice of committee convener. Parliament has agreed that only members of the Scottish Labour Party are eligible for nomination as convener of the Audit Committee. I ask for a nomination for the position of convener.

Thank you, Murdo. I look forward to working with the committee. Andrew Welsh has assured me that, despite what others might say, the committee is challenging, exciting and interesting. I know that from talking to previous committee members Margaret Jamieson and Mary Mulligan, who particularly enjoyed their time on the committee. I look forward to the discussions that we will have and to the scrutiny that we will be able to bring to matters of some significance.
