Public Audit Committee

The 2020/21 audit of the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland

Background

On 20 December 2021, the Auditor General for Scotland published the 2020/21 audit of the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland.

The report says:

"The Commissioner’s Office plays a vital role in providing public trust, through its investigations into the conduct of individuals in public life in Scotland. The failures identified by the Commissioner’s Office and the auditor’s conclusions indicate risk to that trust as well as risk to the confidence of those who may wish to make complaints about the conduct of people in public positions."
