1 Decision on taking business in private:
The Committee agreed to take item 2 in private.
2 Appointments to the Board of the Scottish Land Commission (in private):
The Committee considered a draft report.
Two amendments were agreed to, and the Committee agreed the report as amended for publication. The Committee also agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands to request information.
3 Work programme (in private):
The Committee considered its work programme.
The Committee agreed—
- to hold an evidence session on the Scottish Government Budget 2024-25 in relation to matters within the Committee’s remit at a meeting early in 2024;
- to hold evidence sessions on climate change governance and related matters with the Scottish Government and with Audit Scotland at future meetings;
- to hold an evidence session on the MV Glen Sannox and MV Glen Rosa, and on related matters, with Ferguson Marine (Port Glasgow) Ltd at a future meeting and to write to the Scottish Government requesting more information on various matters concerning Scotland’s ferries; and
- to visit the Ferguson Marine shipyard.
