When you attended the Committee’s meeting on 14 September, you offered to provide an organisational chart mapping out the areas Ministers involved in your portfolio are responsible for.
As explained in communications at official-to-official level on 16 September, this chart would be extremely useful to better understand how different Government departments work together to manage this huge portfolio and frame our work programme and lines of inquiry. As the Parliament has agreed that the NZET Committee’s remit should mirror yours, it would also help Committee Members better understand the precise bounds of our own responsibilities.
I understand this organogram has been in the pipeline for some time. I appreciate the past few weeks will have been busy ones for you, owing to COP26. However, the Committee would now appreciate getting sight of the document at your earliest convenience, so we can plan our work as effectively as possible over the coming months.
