1 Declaration of interests: 

Members of the Committee were invited to declare any relevant interests. Miles Briggs, Ariane Burgess and Willie Coffey had no such interests to declare. The following interests were declared—

Meghan Gallacher as a councillor in North Lanarkshire Council.

Mark Griffin as the owner of a rented property in North Lanarkshire.

Paul McLennan as the owner of a rented property in East Lothian and as a councillor in East Lothian Council.

Elena Whitham as a councillor in East Ayrshire Council.


2 Choice of Convener:

The Committee chose Ariane Burgess as its Convener. 


3 Choice of Deputy Convener:

The Committee chose Elena Whitham as its Deputy Convener.


4 Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take item 6 in private.


5 Legacy Paper:

The Committee noted the Local Government and Communities Committee's Session 5 Legacy Paper.


6 Work programme (in private):

The Committee considered its work programme and agreed—

to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Housing and Local Government, the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Economy and the Deputy First Minister seeking details of the Scottish Government’s priorities within their portfolios insofar as they relate to the Committee’s remit

to invite those same Cabinet Secretaries to give evidence to the Committee on those priorities after the summer recess

to write to stakeholders inviting them to indicate their priorities within the Committee’s remit

to hold a Committee business planning day near the end of summer recess

an approach to consideration of forthcoming Short-Term Lets Regulations.
