Dear recipient

I am writing to you following the establishment of the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee of the Scottish Parliament. I have been chosen as Convener to the Committee and look forward to working with you in that role.

The Committee has agreed to seek views from stakeholders over the summer recess on your priorities within the Committee’s remit, including the financial implications for local government, planning and housing of the continuing pandemic. The Committee is especially keen to hear of examples of innovative practices arising from necessity over the last 18 months which should continue beyond the pandemic. This information will inform the Committee’s approach to consideration of the Scottish Government budget later in the year.

I look forward to hearing from you and request a response by 30 July 2021.

Yours sincerely

Ariane Burgess

Convener, Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee
