1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3 and 6 in private.


2. Climate Change Plan:

The Committee took evidence from—

Jane Miller, Programme Manager, Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE);

Dr Joanna Teuton, Health Improvement Manager, Population Health and Climate Change, Public Health Scotland.

Dr Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.


3. Climate Change Plan (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2 and at last week's meeting.

 

 


4. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee took evidence on the Scotland Act 1998 (Modification of Schedule 5) Order 2026 from—

Neil Gray, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Gerald Byrne, Head of Constitutional Policy, Nicki Crossan, Assisted Dying Shadow Bill Team Leader and Ailsa Garland, Principal Legal Officer, Scottish Government.

Dr Sandesh Gulhane declared an interest as a practising NHS GP.


5. Subordinate legislation:

Neil Gray (Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care) moved—

S6M-20226—That the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee recommends that the Scotland Act 1998 (Modification of Schedule 5) Order 2026 be approved.

The motion was agreed to.




6. Subordinate legislation (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft report on the Scotland Act 1998 (Modification of Schedule 5) Order 2026. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the draft report for publication.


7. Non-surgical Procedures and Functions of Medical Reviewers (Scotland) Bill (In Private):

The Committee considered a draft Stage 1 report. Various changes were agreed to and the Committee agreed to consider an updated draft via correspondence. The Committee delegated to the Convener responsibility for finalising the draft report for publication.
