1. Decisions on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4 and 5 in private.

2. Children and young people’s participation in sport and physical activity:

The Committee took evidence from—

Jillian Gibson, Policy Manager, Sport and Physical Activity, COSLA;

Gregor Muir, Policy and Communications Officer, Scottish Sports Association;

Ailsa Wyllie, Lead Manager, Sports Development, sportscotland.

3. Children and young people’s participation in sport and physical activity (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.

4. Pre-Budget Scrutiny (In Private):

The Committee considered its approach to Pre-Budget Scrutiny for 2026-2027.

The Committee agreed a focus on mental health spending, to undertake a targeted survey of integration authorities, to issue a call for views over summer recess and to take oral evidence in September.

5. Good Food Nation (In Private):

The Committee considered its approach to scrutiny of the Good Food Nation proposed national plan.

The Committee agreed to issue a call for views, jointly with the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee once the plan was laid, and to invite stakeholders and the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands to give oral evidence in September.
