Health, Social Care and Sport Committee

Experiences of the Complex Mesh Surgical Service

Background

The Health, Social Care and Sport Committee is looking into people’s experiences of the Complex Mesh Surgical Service.

The Complex Mesh Surgical Service, hosted by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, is the nationally designated centre in Scotland for women with transvaginal mesh complications (this does not apply where mesh has been used in other parts of the body, for example, hernia repair).

As part of the Committee’s scrutiny of the Transvaginal Mesh Removal (Cost Reimbursement) (Scotland) Bill, it committed to review how the Complex Mesh Surgical Service supports people.
