1 Subordinate legislation:
The Committee noted the following negative instrument— Police Act 1997 and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (Fees) (Coronavirus) Amendment Regulations 2022 and agreed to make no comment.
2 Report by Independent Advisor on Education Reform:
The Committee heard evidence from—
Professor Kenneth Muir, Honorary Professor at the University of the West of Scotland, and former Chief Executive and Registrar of the General Teaching Council for Scotland;
Professor Graham Donaldson, Honorary Professor, School of Education, University of Glasgow.
Stephanie Callaghan declared an interest as she is presently a South Lanarkshire Councillor.
3 Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Bill (in private)(In Private):
The Committee considered a draft report to the COVID-19 Recovery Committee.
The Committee agreed amendments and to consider a further draft of the report at its next meeting.
4 Evidence Session(In Private):
The Committee agreed to defer consideration of the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.
