Registers of Scotland - Annual reports and accounts 2020-21

Letter from the Keeper of the Registers of Scotland, 22 September 2021

Dear Ms Baker

REGISTERS OF SCOTLAND – ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS 2020 - 2021

At Registers of Scotland, we are committed to delivering excellent service to our customers and protecting existing rights when it comes to land and property, for the benefit of the people of Scotland and the wider economy.

Striking the balance of delivering new and improved ways of working, whilst continuing to deliver on our core activities, is not without its challenges and it would not be possible without the support of our customers, stakeholders, and colleagues. And, of course, that support is more important than ever as we continue to adapt to the unprecedented challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have just published our 2020-21 Annual Report and I wanted to share it with committee as part of our commitment to keep you informed of the progress we have made over the past year.

We will also be hosting a one-off virtual Annual Report and Account event looking back at what we have delivered in 2020-21, on Thursday 30 September should members of the committee wish to attend. It will provide the opportunity to ask questions and help shape the content of future annual reports.

While this past year has undoubtedly been a challenging one for the organisation – as it has been for organisations across the world - resilience, fortitude and creativity have helped us to continue to deliver in these difficult times.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if the Committee have any queries relating to the Annual Report and Accounts or would like any further information on any aspect of our performance.

Yours sincerely

JENNIFER HENDERSON
Keeper of the Registers of Scotland
