1 Decision on taking business in private:
The Committee agreed to take items 4 and 5 in private.
2 Subordinate legislation:
The Committee considered the following negative instrument—
Offensive Weapons Act 2019 (Prescribed Documents) (Scotland) (No. 2) Order 2022 (SSI 2022/210)
The Committee agreed to make no recommendations in relation to the instrument.
3 Correspondence:
The Committee considered correspondence received during the summer recess period. The Committee agreed to seek further information from a range of bodies.
4 Bail and Release from Custody (Scotland) Bill:
The Committee agreed to seek approval for the appointment of an adviser. The Committee also agreed a remit and person specification for the adviser.
5 Pre-Budget Scrutiny:
The Committee considered its approach to Pre-Budget Scrutiny. The Committee agreed its timetable for evidence taking and to write to key justice sector organisations inviting them to provide written and oral evidence. The Committee also agreed a public call for views.
