Long COVID
Background
The COVID-19 Recovery Committee is undertaking an inquiry into long COVID. According to the latest ONS figures, an estimated 2.1 million people are experiencing self-reported long COVID in the UK (3.3% of the population). In Scotland it is estimated that 187,000 people have self-reported long COVID (3.5% of the population).
The Committee plans to scrutinise what action the Scottish Government is taking to address long COVID and post COVID syndrome.
We are specifically focused on the following three main themes—
- Awareness and recognition
- Therapy and rehabilitation
- Study and research
