Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee

Climate Justice Fund

Background

The Committee is responsible for scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s International Development policies. This includes the Climate Justice Fund (CJF).

The Climate Justice Fund was launched by the Government in 2012. It aims to help tackle the effects of climate change in the poorest, most vulnerable countries.

The Committee wanted to hear how the Government has approached climate justice ahead of COP26. To ensure Members were updated, the Committee’s meeting on Thursday 30 September 2021 focussed on climate justice.

Following the meeting, the Committee shared a summary of the evidence it had heard with the Scottish Government.
