That the Parliament warmly congratulates the members of Stonehaven and District Men’s Shed on receiving the King’s Award for Voluntary Service; understands that the Scottish Men’s Shed Association now has 200 sheds established, or in the process of being set up, and that the Stonehaven and District volunteers raised over £85,000 in funding to acquire their property, whilst contributing over 4,000 hours of their own time to make it fit for purpose; further understands that, since opening three years ago, the volunteers have worked on a large number of projects for the benefit of the community and the wider world; understands that the volunteers gain great satisfaction in meeting new colleagues in an environment that benefits their mental and physical health, and wishes the volunteers all the best for the future.
