Criminal Justice Committee, Health, Social Care and Sport Committee, Social Justice and Social Security Committee (Joint Meeting)

Drug Deaths and Drug Harm

Meeting date: 26 September 2023

Sue Webber

My question was about how the service will be evaluated, although I also wonder what will happen if the result of the consultation is that none of the local businesses wants to have the service there. How will the success of the service and what has worked well be determined? What other services will be there, to which people can be signposted?

Suzanne Gallagher from Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs has commented that far too much time and effort is being spent on MAT standards 1 to 5 and that we are not really progressing to the others. Kirsten Horsburgh spoke at the beginning of the meeting about it being an emergency. We talk about that, but we do not get a sense of that on the ground. What are your views on that?
