Meeting date: Thursday, May 21, 2026

Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body

15:25

The Presiding Officer (Kenneth Gibson)

The next item of business is the election of six members for appointment to the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. I have received six valid nominations for appointment, which I will announce in alphabetical order. The nominees are Maggie Chapman, Jackie Dunbar, Stephen Kerr, Liam McArthur, Pauline McNeill and Graham Simpson.

As the number of candidates is equal to the number of vacant positions on the SPCB, I invite members to agree that there be a single vote to elect all candidates. If any member objects to a single question being put, please say so now.

The question is, that the following members be elected for appointment to the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body: Maggie Chapman, Jackie Dunbar, Stephen Kerr, Liam McArthur, Pauline McNeill and Graham Simpson. Are members agreed?

Members: Yes.

The Presiding Officer

Members have agreed. The next item of business is—[Interruption.] Sorry, even though the decision is unanimous, I have been advised that we have to put the question to a vote. Members have 30 seconds to vote. All those in favour, yes—or no, as the case may be, but no one is going to vote no. One will gradually get used to these procedures, which we will try to streamline as time progresses.

Members voted.

On a point of order, Presiding Officer. I had no connection. I would have voted yes.

Your vote will be recorded.
