Comrades, the sooner we start, the sooner we will finish.

I wish to make a couple of points before we begin. First, I ask members to agree to take item 5 in private, because we will be discussing the details of individual candidates for the post of adviser. Is that agreed?

Members indicated agreement.

The second point that I wish to make is that I will have to vacate the chair at some point. Johann Lamont will take the chair, and if I return before the end of the meeting, I will take over again.
