Background

Incidents of drink and need spiking in late 2021/early 2022, and the response to them, raised awareness of drink and needle spiking.

The Committee held a one-off evidence session, to learn more about:

• the threat posed by spiking
• its impact on victims
• what action can be taken to prevent it
• what can be done to tackle perpetrators
