Eric Mills and Jonathan McDonald Presented with Cadet Force Warrants

That the Parliament congratulates Sergeant Major Instructors (SMI), Eric Mills and Jonathan McDonald, two Nairnshire volunteers with the Army Cadet Force, on being presented with the Cadet Force Warrant; understands that SMI Mills joined the Army Cadets in 2007 as an instructor and was appointed Commander with the Ardersier Detachment before transferring to Nairn in 2010, where he was an instructor until 2017, when his leadership abilities were recognised, and he was then appointed as the battalion’s Regimental Sergeant Major until 2019; further understands that SMI McDonald, the Nairn Detachment Commander, has been a member of the battalion since the 1980s and was appointed as the Detachment Commander in 2000; commends SMI McDonald for his dedication to young people in the Highlands, which was recognised in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, where he received the British Empire Medal, and further commends both SMI Mills and SMI McDonald for their dedication and work as senior non-commissioned adults within the UK’s Army Cadet Force.
