EasyJet Increase Routes to Aberdeen

  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 19 November 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02188

That the Parliament welcomes easyJet’s reported decision to bring back the Manchester service and also increase the London Gatwick service from Aberdeen International Airport; understands what it considers the great importance of these routes, with Aberdeen International Airport being the north-east of Scotland’s major transport hub and a vital economic driver to the region, contributing, it understands, more than £110 million a year to the local economy; applauds this decision by easyJet; considers that it increases the interconnectedness of the UK, with these routes acting as a gateway to what it sees as Europe’s energy capital in the north-east, and wishes easyJet all the best for the future.
